Fighting for a Vermont We Can Afford

State Representative • Barre City

For the past two years, I've fought to make Vermont more affordable, strengthen public safety, reform education, and cut unnecessary government red tape. I'm asking Barre City to send me back to Montpelier to continue that fight.

Why I'm Running

I believe elected officials should be accessible, honest, and willing to listen. That's how I've tried to serve Barre City throughout my time in public office, and it's how I'll continue to serve in Montpelier.

You may not agree with every vote I take, and that's okay. My promise is that you'll always know where I stand, and I'll always take the time to listen.

Experience. Service. Barre.

Barre City Is Home

I've called Barre City home for over 42 years. I've had the privilege of serving our community for 14 years on the City Council, three years on the School Board, including two as Chair, and now as your State Representative.

My focus has remained the same: put Barre first and make Vermont a more affordable place to live.

Featured in Seven Days

My first two years in Montpelier have been a crash course in how the State House really works.

Seven Days followed Rep. Sweeney and me through our first term, offering a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like to step into the Legislature for the first time and try to make a difference.

For me, the focus has remained simple: cut through the noise, stand up for common sense, and do what's right for Barre City.

What I’m Fighting For

Practical solutions for Barre City and a more affordable Vermont.

Public Safety

Support law enforcement, hold criminals accountable, and expand effective substance-abuse recovery.

Education

Reform Vermont’s education system to control costs, lower property-tax pressure, and protect quality education.

Lower taxes, reduce unnecessary regulations, and stop policies that make Vermont more expensive for working families.
