Welcome!

Thanks for visiting!

If you found one of my eagles, I'm glad you stopped by.

My name is Michael Boutin, and I'm proud to represent Barre City in the Vermont House of Representatives. I wasn't born into politics—I got involved because I care deeply about the city I grew up in and believe government should work for the people it serves.

Why I'm Running

I believe elected officials should be accessible, honest, and willing to listen.

Over the past two years, I've worked to:

  • Fight for lower taxes and a more affordable Vermont.

  • Support public safety and stronger, safer communities.

  • Cut unnecessary government red tape.

  • Keep constituents informed about what's happening in Montpelier through regular updates.

You may not agree with every vote I take, and that's okay. My promise is that you'll always know where I stand and that I'll always take the time to listen.

Get to Know Me

Take a look around the website to learn more about:

  • My background and experience.

  • My positions on important issues.

  • Bills I've worked on and how I've voted.

  • How to get more involved and how to connect with me.

Thank you again for taking the time to visit. Whether you ultimately support me or not, I appreciate your interest and the opportunity to earn your trust.

I hope you'll explore the site and get to know me before Election Day, November 3rd, 2026. Follow me on Facebook at facebook.com/boutinforbarre.

Seven Days Article

The last two years were a crash course in how Montpelier really works. Seven Days published a great article featuring myself and Rep. Sweeney, walking through what it’s like to step into the State House for the first time and try to make a difference.
I came in ready to work for Barre City—and I’ve learned a lot about how to push through the noise and stay focused on what matters. Being in the minority party isn’t easy, but it’s never stopped me from standing up for common sense and doing what’s right for Barre City.

Thank you, Barre, for sending me to Montpelier. I’m just getting started.
